Navigating the complexities of planning permissions can be challenging, especially if your building is listed or located in a conservation area.

Ventrolla Consult is our dedicated planning advisory service. We offer comprehensive support for all aspects of window and door restoration, ensuring a seamless approval process.

Services

Our services include

01

Application for conservation area consent

If your building is in a conservation area, draught-proofing, renovating, or replacing sashes with slim heritage double or vacuum glazing can usually be done without planning consent, provided the work is sympathetic to the building’s character. However, always check with your local conservation officer first. Ventrolla can guide you through this process.

02

Application for Article 4 Direction consent

For properties under Article 4 Direction, any modifications to windows or doors are highly likely to require planning approval. Sometimes, the direction may only apply to specific changes, like creating a basement. Ventrolla can help with these applications, making sure your project meets all regulations while preserving your building’s integrity.

03

Application for listed building consent

If your building is listed, you don’t usually need consent for draughtproofing or renovating existing windows and doors, but you should always check with your local conservation officer. However, listed building consent is often required for changes such as adding new sashes in original frames or fully replacing windows, even if it’s like-for-like. Ventrolla is here to guide you through every step to ensure compliance.
