Charming Chorlton: a double-glazed home transformation.

Nestled in the leafy southern suburb of Manchester, Chorlton House is a stunning five-storey Edwardian semi-detached home that beautifully marries original features with Scandinavian inspiration. For homeowner Karen Jones Russell, this residence represents a labour of love — her third renovation project and by far the most ambitious. While the existing timber sash windows had undergone previous renovations, they fell short of the superior standard offered by Ventrolla and required meticulous attention as part of Karen’s comprehensive home transformation.

For this photographic and video location house, Karen envisioned enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the windows. At the same time, her partner sought to elevate energy efficiency and minimise noise through double-glazing that would harmonise with the home’s historic character. Fortunately, Ventrolla was there to fulfil both aspirations.

Slim Double Glazing

Our slim double glazing matches the performance of modern uPVC windows while preserving the original profile and style of period windows. Designed with narrow glazing bars between glass panes, it fits seamlessly in heritage frames without extensive modifications.

SRS

Our Sash Removal System (SRS) is discreetly mounted in the side of the sash, allowing safe and easy removal of both the upper and lower sashes to give free access to the window box frame, and is not visible either internally or externally during the normal operation of the sash window.

VPSS

Our innovative draught-proofing technology creates an effective barrier against cold air entering the property. Expertly installed brush piles discreetly seal gaps without hindering window operation, maintaining both aesthetics and functionality.
