FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you use sustainable materials?
Whenever possible, we use sustainable and ethically sourced materials.
Are your methods eco-friendly?
Yes! By repairing and upgrading existing windows instead of replacing them, we reduce waste and preserve resources.
How soon can you start work on my property?
Start times depend on current demand and location. After the initial survey, we’ll provide an estimated start date.
Is there a charge for the initial survey?
No, for residential customers, our initial survey is free of charge and includes a no-obligation quote.
Do you work on modern properties or only on period homes?
While our focus is on period properties, we also provide services for modern homes with timber windows. We are unable to renovate modern softwood windows but we can replace them.
What does Ventrolla specialise in?
We specialise in the repair, renovation, and draught-proofing of sash windows and casement windows, along with wooden doors and period property joinery.
What is the lead time for getting the work done?
It differs from office to office dependent on how busy we are and what window work you have chosen, varying from 6 to 14 weeks from order date. Your Surveyor will be able to advise you better on current lead times and our operations team will be able to confirm exact timescales once you place your order.
What is the process if I want to arrange a survey?
You can get in touch on Freephone 0800 0277 454, email us on info@ventrolla.co.uk, or complete our short enquiry form on our website at www.ventrolla.co.uk. Once we’ve received your enquiry we will be in touch within 2-3 working days to arrange your survey.
Do you need scaffolding?
Where possible we do all work in situ and take the sashes out from the inside of the property. Because of this, we ask that the rooms we will be working in are cleared, and we will dust sheet all furnishings. If scaffolding is necessary, i.e. there is limited access or for larger commercial projects, then we would always discuss this with you in advance of the order being placed.
How long will the survey take?
It depends on the number of windows you would like us to survey and how long your chat with our Surveyor takes, but we usually say around 40 minutes to an hour.
Do you only renovate sash windows?
We specialise in sash windows but we also provide new casement windows, Yorkshire sliders, French doors – anything timber. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Can I buy your product from you and do the work myself?
We can supply complete new windows, however we don’t sell component parts.
Where abouts in the UK do you work?
We cover mainland England, Scotland and Wales
Are your Installers all Ventrolla employees & Ventrolla trained?
Yes, all our staff are Ventrolla trained employees in all our offices throughout the UK and audited to our specification. All our work comes with a Ventrolla 10 year guarantee.
Can you help with a condensation problem?
The main way you can combat a condensation problem is to further ventilate your home (i.e. open your windows from time to time). The moisture in your home is caused by heating, bodies etc. and it settles on the nearest cold surface – usually your windows. Double Glazing units will be slightly less cold and therefore you may notice slightly less condensation, however, your home will also be better insulated, thus more moisture may be contained within your home.
What kind of wood do you use?
For new joinery we use a hardwood, usually Sapele or Accoya, though we can use other woods if specified. Please ask your Surveyor or see your detailed quotation for further information on the recommended materials.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes, all our work is guaranteed for 10 years
