Reduce draughts and rattles from your sash and casement windows
Original sash and casement windows bring traditional charm to a property, but they are renowned for draughts and rattles, especially in windy weather. Many people contact us to help them draught-proof their timber windows, so they can enjoy a cosier and quieter home. Draught proofing can also protect windows from damage caused by rattling in adverse conditions.
Enjoy a cosier home with Ventrolla’s draught-proofing expertise
The air gap of 3mm around sashes enable the windows to slide past one another for smooth operation. However, it’s this air gap that causes draughts, rattles, dust ingress and reduced energy efficiency. Our tried-and tested Ventrolla Perimeter Sealing System (VPSSS) will draught-proof your sash windows and eliminate these problems, without compromising the look.
Innovative Draught-Proofing technology, tested to withstand winds up to 71mph
The Ventrolla Perimeter Sealing System was created by our founder, Robert Tunicliffe, drawing from his experience of designing gaskets and seals for Ford Motors. Over the last 35 years, our window seal has evolved into a precision manufactured system, that we’ve installed into thousands of homes across the UK. It’s our unique solution for banishing common issues associated with the 3mm gap around sash and casement windows – and tested to British Standards BS 6375:1-2009 (the equivalent of 71 mph winds).
The VPSS not only eliminates draughts but has the following added benefits:
- Banishes rattles
- Stops water and dust ingress
- Helps to reduce outside noise being heard in your home
- Keeps warm air in to reduce your energy bills
- Is supplied in a range of colours and can be colour matched to suit all finishes
Discreet technology for warmer sash windows
When we repair your sashes or manufacture brand new timber windows, the Ventrolla Perimeter Sealing System is usually fitted as standard. This includes our high-performance Weatherfin Pile, which we install in our unique parting bead between the sashes, in the new staff beads around the window, and directly into the mid and bottom rail of your sash windows. The result is that the perimeter of your sash window is draught proofed, for warmth and less rattling.
