Ventrolla, the timber window renovation specialist, has gone back to school in Sheffield to complete a £40,000 project.
Ventrolla South Yorkshire was appointed by the owner of Sheffield High School, the Girls’ Day School Trust, to renovate and repair 120 period windows.
The first stage of the project was to repair any damaged woodwork on the sashes. Where the damage was too extensive, Ventrolla replaced the sashes, matching the originals as closely as possible.
The Ventrolla Perimeter Sealing System (VPSS) is put in the gap surrounding the window sashes. This improves performance and eliminates draughts and rattles.
Work on the Grade I listed building took five months and was carried out in stages as the school remained open throughout. Stephen Greenhalgh, Building Surveyor for the Girls’ Day School Trust, said
“We have 29 schools located across the country and have worked on three of them with Ventrolla to date.”
Ventrolla offers a bespoke renovation service for timber sliding sash and casement windows, as well as timber doors. The company has its central office in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, with additional locations throughout the UK and Ireland.
