Ventrolla Lancashire has supported the £2 million redevelopment of commercial office space on behalf of the home office.

“Improving the look and performance of the windows was an important aspect of the project and helped us achieve an overall high standard of finish both internally and externally at this landmark building.”

The historic premises at Minshull Street in Manchester city centre was refurbished for occupation by Greater Manchester Probation Service.

Work was overseen by construction and property developer B & E Boys of Rossendale and was completed over a 40 week period.

Boys appointed Ventrolla to carry out substantial repairs to 75 of the building’s timber sliding sash windows and apply its unique Perimeter Sealing System to improve heat retention and performance.

Craig Bull, Site Manager for Boys, said: “It was important to work with partners who understood the need to carry out a sympathetic restoration of the premises which would enhance the quality of the office space without spoiling its character.”

Minshull Street is set inside Manchester’s business heartland close to the Canal Street district of bars and restaurants and opposite the Crown Courts.

The city’s Probation Service supervises offenders over the age of 18 who are given a community order by the Court or released from prison on licence. It also works to support victims of serious crimes.

Ventrolla’s central office is based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, with offices throughout the UK and Ireland, and offers a bespoke renovation service for timber sliding sash and casement windows.

Its unique Ventrolla Perimeter Sealing System (VPSS) improves a window’s performance and energy efficiency.
