Ventrolla – Simply the BEST

• Ventrolla replaced my wooden sash windows. The installation took 4 days and was completed by Dave and James. I was very impressed with the pride they took in their work, attention to detail, their craftmanship and the quality of the job that they finished. I am very impressed with and trust everyone at Ventrolla whom I have had contact with especially Neil, Mollie and Hollie. Ventrolla’s customer service, communications and support from start to completion and after care, is second to none. I have no hesitation in recommending Ventrolla as the only company above all others, to replace your windows. I am so happy with my new replacement windows and how they have transformed my home beyond all my expectations. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!

I will definately be calling on Ventrolla in the future! Great job team!

New doors, new home! Gosh, the thought of having to go through all of the rigmoral to get this organised was quite daunting, however, I needn’t have worried! With the help of Simon and Paul on the paperwork, Emma, Jennie and Tom on scheduling and invoicing, and James Rob and Tyler on the fitting and snagging I’m so pleased with the outcome. The doors open perfectly (better than before!) and are draft proofed to within and inch of their lives! Leaving the house gorgeously toasty in this freezing weather. I really wasn’t looking forward to having all this done, but the guys were very friendly and professional. Did a great job of problem solving, and left the place cleaner than they found it! Thank you so much team! This is the second time I have used Ventrolla, having had Toby fit the system in our windows previously and I am absolutely thrilled with the results! I will definitely be calling on Ventrolla should I need a similar service in future! Great job team!

Confidence is high with this compnay

We are delighted with the sash double glazed window that was installed in an existing box frame. The company is efficient, easy to contact, pleasant to deal with and provided good prompt response to our queries. Their goal in achieving a very happy customer was achieved when they sent Rob, an excellent experienced fitter, to finish a couple of snags. We have every confidence in using this company again should we decide to proceed with the rest of the windows.

About Cheshire’s architecture

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet coset.

Cheshire’s iconic black-and-white framed buildings feature leaded casements with small diamond quarries, often settled and shifted over time. Later Georgian and Victorian additions brought refined sash windows, many of which now suffer from perished cords, rattling sashes, rotted cills and draughts through the meeting rails.

Whatever the period, our approach is the same: restore first, replace only where necessary, match every profile exactly. Our award-winning Ventrolla Perimeter Sealing System (VPSS™), bespoke joinery, and specialist glazing deliver a window that looks unchanged and performs as new.

Frequently asked questions

01

Why are so many Cheshire homeowners choosing to restore rather than replace their original timber windows?

Many period homes across Cheshire feature original timber windows that contribute significantly to the property’s character and value. Restoration allows homeowners to retain these architectural features while improving performance, often at a lower environmental cost than complete replacement. For heritage and high-value homes, preserving original joinery can also help maintain authenticity and kerb appeal.

02

Do you work on period properties in Chester, Knutsford, Wilmslow and Alderley Edge?

Yes. Ventrolla regularly works on a wide range of period properties throughout Cheshire, including Georgian townhouses, Victorian terraces, Edwardian homes and country residences. Our specialist craftsmen understand the construction methods and architectural details commonly found across Cheshire’s historic housing stock.

03

How do I know if my timber windows need restoration?

Common signs include draughts, rattling sashes, sticking windows, visible timber decay, peeling paint, condensation issues and difficulty opening or closing the windows. A professional survey can identify whether restoration is a suitable solution and help prevent further deterioration.

04

Can restoring my windows help protect the value of my Cheshire property?

In many cases, yes. Original timber windows are considered an attractive feature in period homes and can enhance a property’s character. Restoring rather than replacing them helps retain the architectural integrity that many prospective buyers actively seek when purchasing period properties in Cheshire.

05

How does Ventrolla improve window performance without changing their appearance?

Our specialist restoration techniques are designed to preserve the original, historical aesthetics of timber windows while improving their functionality. This includes repairs, overhauls, balancing mechanisms, glazing upgrades and our proprietary Ventrolla Perimeter Sealing System (VPSS), which helps improve comfort and energy efficiency with minimal visual impact.

06

Are your window restoration services suitable for conservation area properties?

Yes. Many Cheshire towns and villages contain conservation areas where preserving original architectural details is particularly important. Ventrolla’s restoration-first approach is designed to maintain historic character while delivering modern performance benefits wherever possible.

07

Can you help reduce condensation on traditional timber windows?

Condensation can occur for several reasons, including poor ventilation and temperature differences between indoor and outdoor environments. Depending on the condition of your windows, restoration, draught-proofing, glazing upgrades and secondary glazing solutions may help improve overall performance and reduce condensation-related issues.

08

What makes timber window restoration a more sustainable option?

Restoring existing windows helps retain original materials, reduces waste and minimises the environmental impact associated with manufacturing and installing new products. As sustainability becomes increasingly important for homeowners, restoration offers an environmentally conscious way to improve period windows while preserving heritage features.

09

How can I extend the lifespan of my timber sash windows?

Regular maintenance, prompt repairs and professional restoration can significantly extend the life of timber windows. Ventrolla’s restoration services address common causes of deterioration and help protect windows from future wear, ensuring they continue to perform effectively for many years.

10

Why do Cheshire homeowners choose Ventrolla?

With more than four decades of experience and over one million timber windows restored nationwide, Ventrolla is one of the UK’s most trusted heritage window specialists. Our expertise in timber window restoration, commitment to craftsmanship and innovative solutions such as VPSS help Cheshire homeowners preserve the beauty, performance and value of their period properties.
