Slim Double Glazed Sashes Installed At Chorlton House, Manchester

Karen Jones Russell contacted Ventrolla to restore many of the sash windows in her beautiful, 5-storey semi-detached period villa in Chorlton, Manchester. Karen wanted to improve the aesthetics of the windows and her partner was interested to increase the energy efficiency and reduce noise with double-glazing that would be sympathetic to the era of her home. Fortunately, Ventrolla were able to help with both.

The existing timber sash windows had been renovated before, but they hadn’t been done to a high standard and needed looking at again as part of Karen’s major house renovation. Ventrolla gave Karen advice and were instructed to renovate the windows on the front and side elevations of the property. Karen said:

“We are completely renovating the property and the windows are an integral part of that. Ventrolla were honest with us and said we could get away with simply replacing the glass but the high aesthetic standards I was trying to achieve meant that I decided to install replica windows but kept the original frames and mouldings.”

“Not only have we benefited from the reduction in noise and the aesthetics, but the windows are all now fully operational. The very large bay window at the front couldn’t be opened before but now it gives us a large opening, that is perfect for manoeuvring large pieces of furniture and essential for the styling of the property as a location house.”

Karen added: “We are both delighted with the results. The noise has been reduced significantly and the windows now look beautiful. We’ve added the finishing touches from a décor perspective too – beautiful shutters which look fabulous from outside and complete the rooms internally too.”

Chlorton House is Karen’s beautiful family home but it is also available to book as a location for film, television or still shoots, events and workshops.
