After her windows had become ill-fitting and rotten over time, homeowner Ms. Thomas decided to take action and contacted Ventrolla for help, after a receiving a recommendation from a friend. Her Victorian home, in Sutton Coldfield, had three original wooden sash windows all in need of repair works.
The detail of the sash window renovation works was established via a thorough Ventrolla survey, assessing the condition of the existing windows. This survey enabled Ventrolla to provide a detailed estimate to Ms Thomas, outlining the works they recommended.
On the day of her window works, the sash windows underwent extensive renovation, including tenon joint repairs, replacement wooden window sills and the installation of the Ventrolla Perimeter Sealing System (VPSS) – a discreet draught-proofing system that works to eliminate draughts, rattles, leaks and dust – all common problems found in period sash windows.
In addition, all sashes were re-hung, with the weights adjusted and pulleys serviced – meaning they operated smoothly again, as they should.
