A property located in one of Bath’s most historic townhouse terraces has had its sash windows renovated by Ventrolla.

Residents within the grade II listed Norfolk Buildings’, Mr and Mrs Ensom, appointed Ventrolla Wessex to tackle the draughts they were experiencing from their Georgian windows whilst ensuring the aesthetical characteristics were not affected.

The renovation process began by removing and replacing any rot from the frames of nine sash windows, and the sashes were re-weighed and adjusted, to ensure smooth operation. The Ventrolla Perimeter Sealing System (VPSS) was then installed to eradicate draughts, as well as prevent heat loss, rattles, and external noise. Mrs Ensom said:

“We are delighted with the work. The extremely helpful and thoughtful care of Ventrolla’s skilled craftsmen really showed in their individual approach to each sash window.”

“The end result is better than we could have imagined. The sashes slide beautifully, the draughts are gone and unexpectedly, the house is much quieter.”

“We chose to work with Ventrolla because of its expertise and understanding of listed buildings. I am now able to share my experience of Ventrolla with other owners of period properties through my job, to ensure their homes are treated with the same care as mine.

Mrs Ensom works as a heritage consultant and since using Ventrolla would have no hesitation in recommending the renovation specialists to others.

Grade II listed Norfolk Building was built in 1824 and is within walking distance of Green Park Station, a former railway station in central Bath.

Ventrolla offers a bespoke renovation service for timber sliding sash and casement windows as well as timber doors.  The company has its central office in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, with additional offices throughout the UK.
