Replacement Window Sills
In line with Ventrolla’s green ethos our replacement window sills are all made from treated North American Douglas Fir as recommended by BRE (British Research Establishment) for its durability, low movement in service and sustainability.
The sills are treated in accordance with BS 8417:2003 and exceed the BRE recommended 30 year life for wood in Use Class 3 (EN335-1). The sills are pressure treated using Protim 418, which protects the wood from fungal decay and insect attack to Use Class UC1, UC2, UC3a and UC3b.
Our policy to change from hardwood sills was due to the growing concern for the environment and our desire to utilise only timber from a sustainable and ethical source. Through our research and work with BRE we have achieved our goal and provided a suitable alternative that exceeds our customer’s needs.
