To extend the life of sash windows, casement windows and other types of wooden windows and doors, we can deal with any localised decay.
Ventrolla, the sash window experts, have developed a unique Wood Repair System (VR90) that has been designed to extend the life of sash windows, casement windows and other wood windows and doors.
VR90 wood repair is a two part epoxy resin designed to impart the original strength to tenon joints and to fill cavities in sills, which it achieves through bonding with the original timber.
Most other epoxy resins take 24 hours to cure, whilst VR90 cures within an hour, thus speeding up our renovation process.
The process:
• Decaying wood is removed back to the sound timber
• VR90 WS stabiliser is applied to provide anchorage
• VR90 resin is applied to fill gaps/joints and moulded to match the window profile
In the event of excessive deterioration, or where economies dictate, we splice in new timber or, in in extreme cases we can replace parts or all of the sash window, as required.
