Ventrolla assisted in the development of several new luxury flats within St. Leonards Park in Horsham, a Grade II Listed building and period house. Working in conjunction with Rydon Homes, who renovated the property over 18 months to provide ten stunning new houses, Ventrolla upgraded the ageing sash windows.

Work carried out:

• Ventrolla's Wood Repair System VR90 was used to fill wood cavities and fix scarfed in timber.

• All sashes were eased, adjusted as necessary and balanced.

• New sash cords are fitted and pulleys and hinges serviced.

• Windows were fully draughtproofed using Ventrolla's unique Perimeter Sealing System.

• Cills which were beyond repair were replaced with iroko, an extremely durable hardwood.

• Solid brass catches, sash lifts and security stops were fitted.

• Windows were stripped of paint, primed and refitted.

• New sashes were fitted where the layout of original had been changed during earlier unsympathetic repair works.

• Horizontal and vertical internal shutters were released and refurbished.

Whilst retaining some of its earlier origins, it had been altered and extended substantially over the years, losing much of its character in the process. It has been immensely rewarding to regain much of the property’s lost identity and be able to look again on a place of true beauty. By restoring the windows, effectively the ‘eyes’ of the building, Ventrolla’s contribution has proved invaluable.”
