Ventrolla North East & North Yorkshire were called in to renovate and upgrade the sash windows of the Pilot Office in Hull. Over a period of three months, Ventrolla worked in conjunction with Kemp Developments Ltd to help convert these former pilots’ offices into flats. In total, 18 of the listed building’s sash windows were renovated as part of the conversion project.

Work carried out:

• Ventrolla's Wood Repair System VR90 was used to carry out repairs and fix scarfed in timber.

• All sashes were eased, adjusted as necessary and balanced.

• New sash cords were fitted and pulleys and hinges serviced.

• Windows were fully draughtproofed using Ventrolla's unique Perimeter Sealing System.

• Sash windows were fitted with the Ventrolla Sash Removal System, which allows quick and easy removal of sashes internally for future maintenance.

• Cills which were beyond repair were replaced.

• Solid brass catches, sash lifts and security stops were fitted.
