VENTROLLA RENOVATES WINDOWS OF SHEFFIELD CITY HALL AS PART OF £12.5 MILLION UPGRADE PROJECT

UK market leaders, Ventrolla, have upgraded the windows of Sheffield City Hall as part of a major refurbishment programme that will update the landmark building to a state of the art cultural venue and conference centre.

Ventrolla refurbished 80 double hung casement windows - including full repairs and draught proofing, as well as replacing broken panes - in a major project continuing over 11 months from October 2004 to August 2005.

Since its inauguration in 1932, Sheffield City Hall has held an important place in South Yorkshire’s cultural heritage, playing host to 400 events per year, including concerts, exhibitions, conferences, banquets and club nights.  Its development will ensure that it continues to provide contemporary facilities to a wide range of functions, with Ventrolla’s window renovation bringing significant improvements to the energy efficiency and noise attenuation of the building.

Clive Booth, Director of Estates for Sheffield International Venues who manage Sheffield City Hall said: "The 71 year old Sheffield City Hall underwent a much needed £12.5m, 18 month refurbishment, reopening its doors in October 2005.
 
The refurbishment package included new staircases, lifts and improved access to the building. We also repainted and cleaned many areas creating a vibrant new feel whilst retaining and refurbishing the classic features that make the City Hall unique.
 
Feedback from performers, customers and conference attendees has been very positive and we look forward to welcoming many more people to Sheffield City Hall for years to come.”
