VENTROLLA RENOVATES SEASIDE LANDMARK

15 April 2009

Ventrolla, the window renovation specialist, has upgraded and renovated Georgian sash windows at an historic house on the Essex coast.

Warner’s Hall in Burnham-on-Crouch has undergone a major refurbishment by the owner, Neil Kennedy, to return the property from flats to its original use as a large family home.  Part of the project included renovation of the windows, some of which were more than 150 years old.

Ventrolla East Anglia were brought in during the initial planning stage by Mr Kennedy to carry out a site visit and advise on how best to approach the window renovation.  As it is a grade II listed building it was important to retain the character and charm of the building by renovating the existing wooden sash windows.

Due to its coastal location Warner’s Hall is constantly battered by strong winds and achieving a good weather seal was key to the project.

The windows were upgraded using the Ventrolla Perimeter Sealing System (VPSS), that has beentested to Class 3 of BS 6375-1, which is equivalent to winds of 71 mph.
