Ventrolla East Anglia has successfully completed a major window renovation project on a Grade II listed apartment block in Great Yarmouth.

The company was appointed by Flagship Housing Association to work on 83 timber sash windows which had fallen into disrepair at the South Quay development.

The property dates back to the Elizabethan period and now provides 17 individual flats for social housing purposes.  The window renovation was part of an overall external refurbishment which included brickwork and roof renovations.

Sound proofing and draught exclusion were key factors in the project.  Ventrolla installed its unique Perimeter Sealing System (VPSS) into the gap surrounding each sash, which then eradicates draughts and also reduces rattles, noise and dust ingress.

Flagship Housing Association’s group portfolio and conservation surveyor, Ben Bishop, said: “The property is located on a busy roadside and also suffers from high gusts of winds due to its quayside position, so anything we could do to eradicate noise pollution and draughts for our tenants was going to be welcomed.
 
“Ventrolla’s renovation process provided the ideal solution and we are all delighted with the results.  We have just re-commissioned them to support us with another project at a Grade II listed property on Nelson Road South, Great Yarmouth.
