Sash window renovation specialist Ventrolla has provided invaluable skills to help refurbish a landmark educational facility in central Stoke.

Staffordshire University appointed architects Hulme Upright to carry out renovations on its historic Cadman Centre, which houses the university’s library and administrative offices.

Ventrolla’s Staffs and Salop office carried out work at the university, renovating around 140 sliding timber sash windows on the two-storey building. 
David Perkin, associate for Hulme Upright said: “Some of the windows were damaged and wedged in an ‘almost shut’ position. This led to draughts in the winter and little air in the summer. Now all the windows are functioning again and staff and students are delighted with the results.

“Our biggest challenge was completing the work while the building was still fully functional and occupied. We adopted a rolling programme, completing one room at a time and causing as little disruption as possible.”
