CHARTERHOUSE SCHOOL, GOLDALMING, SURREY

Ventrolla were brought in to renovate the traditional casement windows for conservation purposes of Charterhouse School in Goldalming, Surrey. The original windows were draughty and causing discomfort to the pupils of the public school and so Ventrolla were able to eliminate this problem by using their unique Perimeter Sealing System whilst also restoring them to their former glory. This system also has the added advantage of making the windows more energy efficient, thus reducing the large costs of heating such magnificent buildings. Ventrolla secured the order when they undertook a trial window, which was then presented to the Bursar of the School and the Specifier (Robert Harper of GVA Grimley). They were both absolutely delighted with the work and placed the order on that basis. The restoration of the windows commenced on the 1st October 2005 and took just over one month for completion.

Work carried out:

Ventrolla's Wood Repair System VR90 was used to carry out repairs and fix scarfed in timber.
Windows were fully draught proofed using Ventrolla's unique Perimeter Sealing System.
Sills which were beyond repair were replaced with wood to match with the original.
Windows were stripped of paint where necessary, primed ready for finishing work to take place.
